Our Approach
Pain hurts. Severe pain is not only uncomfortable, but can lead to depression, frustration
and exhaustion. But - though it can be hard to believe – pain can also be a blessing,
alerting us to an underlying problem. When that problem lies in the muscles, massage
can be an appropriate and highly effective treatment. Some of the benefits of massage include pain
relief, stress reduction, improved posture and blood circulation, better sleep and more energy.
Treating the cause
At Back to Balance our treatments focus on the cause of your problem as well as its
symptoms. Simply treating the symptoms may bring temporary relief, but unless the
underlying cause is addressed, your symptoms will soon return, often with increased
frequency and severity.
After a thorough examination and consultation, your therapist will propose a programme
of treatment. As well as massage therapy (where this is appropriate) we will teach you
how best to manage your condition.
Extended care
Where appropriate, we make referrals to experts in related fields such as physiotherapist,
osteopath or chiropractor. Or we are happy to work closely with your existing practitioners.
Either way, we find that working as a team in this manner ensures your treatment is as effective,
and your recovery is as rapid , as possible.
Do I need to be in pain to come and see you?
No, definitely not - prevention is always better than cure! Too often we tell ourselves
that those niggling aches will go away with a little rest, or by using painkillers, creams,
lotions and potions. At Back to Balance, we prefer to stop little aches before they turn
into big pains!
Relax and unwind…
Massage therapy can be a great way to help stay pain free, relax, unwind, release
tension and take time out. So why not book a treatment and invest in your most
important asset.......YOU!
